On behalf of the WDSF Presidium Nenad Jeftic (Vice-President for Sport) informed the organiser today (February 6th) about the granting of the 2024 European Championship Senior I Ten Dance to the Berlin Dance Festival. This event will take place on Sunday, 14th April.
On Friday, 9th February the World Dance SportFederation published on its website the granting of the WDSF 2024 European Championship Senior II Standard to the Berlin Dance Festival. This continental championship will take place on Saturday, 13th April.
Adding the already confirmed thirteen WDSF world ranking competitions - from Junior to Senior - the total number of international top-tournaments increases to 15.
Both European Championship will be held in the arena of Max-Schmeling-Hall Berlin, Germany.

Dear participants, welcome to Berlin on the occasion of the Berlin Dance Festival 2023. The first edition of this new international dancesport festival takes place at the Max-Schmeling-Arena (Falkplatz 1, 10437 Berlin).
How to get there
(Arriving by plane) to Berlin:
Between BER Berlin-Brandenburg International Airport and the official participants' hotel (City Hotel Berlin East - Landsberger Alle 203, 13055 Berlin) we do offer a bus shuttle service that departs from the central plaza at the airport. Please go to the long distance and shuttle bus stops – at the stops no 15 to 18 the busses depart regularly. The ride takes approx. 60-70 minutes per direction. The airport service runs between Thursday, March 30th and Monday, April 3rd.
On Sunday, April 2nd, there is a special nonstop service from the venue (Max-Schmeling-Halle) to BER Berlin-Brandenburg International Airport - departing from Max-Schmeling-Halle at approx 6:15pm and expected to arrive at the airport at 7:30pm.

Notice - at BER Berlin-Brandenburg International Airport you can reserve a time slot for access to the security control free of charge - within 72 hours before boarding the flight:

To the venue…
By car:
Please take northern directions to get to Falkplatz. There are no car parkings and parking on the public streets requires a fee.
On Sunday, there will be a half-marathon race in Berlin (course). Some streets in the city centre may be closed.
Therefore we do recommend to take public transportations…
By public transportation:
There are some railway (Gesundbrunnen) and underground stations (e.g. U2 | Eberswalder Straße) in walking distance. The closest tram stop to the venue is at Eberswalder Straße: M10 gets you here from Berlin main station within a few minutes.
By bus shuttles:
At the Berlin Dance Festival's ticket shop you can purchase tickets for the shuttle service: intickz - Onlineshop. Tickets are on sale online only but until departure if there is still availability.
This venue service runs on all three competition days between the official participants' hotel (City Hotel Berlin East - Landsberger Alle 203, 13055 Berlin) and the venue (Max-Schmeling-Halle). The ride takes approx. 25 minutes per direction and each morning the first bus departs from the hotel to arrive at the venue when the doors open. Busses stop at resp. depart from Eberswalder Straße and 5-minute-walk gets you to the venue’s main entrance at Falkplatz:

Doors open each competition day 90 minutes prior to the first competition.
When entering the arena all bags are checked. So please reduce the number of bags to a minimum. Checked bags are marked by a tag. This is for our common safety.
Inside the arena you will find several dancesport retailers and the check-in.
There are several dressing rooms, most of them are on level -1 and on the same level as the arena floor. Friday morning there are dressing rooms at hall C available and the remaining dressing rooms are accessible at 11:30am.
Please take care of your valuables and do not leave any in the dressing rooms. The organizers cannot be held responsible for any loss. There are some safe deposit boxes in the entrance area.
Tickets
This is a cashless event regarding ticketing – so please tell your accompanying people to get their tickets in advance and online. The ticket shop is open 24/7 even on the competition day.
Each ticket offers the free choice of any seat at the Max-Schmeling-Arena and to see all competitions in hall C.
There will be no ticket shop at the venue. All tickets must be purchased online.
Payments are possible thru apple-pay, google-pay, creditcards (Visa, Mastercard, AmEx) as well as SEPA direct-debit and direct-pay via "Sofortüberweisung". Tickets can be purchased in our ticket shop.
The following guidelines are for your introduction to the specifics of our dancesport festival and there are some rules that apply to this venue:
Competitions
Please do not grit or use wax or similar adhering powder on the dance floors.
When using spray cans please keep distance to fire and smoke detectors in the dressing rooms. And – very important: for spray cans there are special and designated trash bins!
In respecting the audience and others, please make use of regular trash bins and keep all areas clean.
Most competitions are organized interlayed, i.e. the rounds of two or three competitions are performed alternately. Please consult the screens for details and listen carefully to the announcements.
The heat drawings are not announced however displayed on the screens. Please familiarize yourself with the drawings and pay attention to compete always in the correct heat. At each floor there is a designated entrance that has to be used as the number of couples is counted there.
There are some catering options inside the arena. However, couples are allowed to take their own beverages (no glas bottles!) and reasonable snacks for their own needs into the venue.
Smoking is allowed in designated areas outside and is prohibited inside the venue complex. Animals are not allowed inside the venue.

If necessary, please cancel your registration asap at startmeldungen@ltv-berlin.de We ask for your understanding that in the case of cancellation the registration fee is not refunded.

As of March 16th, the entries for the two world championships are completed. And more couples than expected registered for both championships. To see the start lists
The 2023 WDSF World DanceSport Championship Senior II Ten Dance (Saturday, April 1st) will see 48 couples. A third of them is representing Germany. 14 additional nations are represented - up to Japan and the US. This world championship will now start at 9:00am in the morning!
The next day - April, 2nd - 80 couples from 18 nations will compete in the 2023 WDSF World DanceSport Championship Senior III Latin: Austria, Czech Republic, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovac Republic, Spain, USA and Germany.
For all other 13 WDSF world ranking competitions the registration will end on March 25th.

For both world championships that will take place during the Berlin Dance Festival - 2023 WDSF World DanceSport Championship Senior II Ten Dance (Saturday, April 1st) and 2023 WDSF World DanceSport Championship Senior III Latin (Sunday, April 2nd) - 15 national dancesport federations of these countries have already nominated their participants: Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, England, Finland, France, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and Germany.
Deadline for entries to the world championships is March,15th. For the 13 additional WDSF world ranking competitions the registration closes on March, 25th.

Starting from 25 euros (plus 1 euro service-fee) friends of dancesport can become part of Berlins new dance festival hosting 13 WDSF world ranking competitions and two world championships.
Each ticket offers the free choice of any seat at the Max-Schmeling-Arena and to see all competitions in hall C. So everyone can join a full day of dancesport at its highest level.
There will be no ticket sales at the venue. All tickets must be purchased online.
